Applications Specialist

As an Applications Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that BioDiscovery’s advanced software solutions enable the users to make scientific breakthroughs. This involves providing technical support to current and prospective customers, working in conjunction with key customers to solve important problems, and assisting the sales team in pre and post sales demonstrations and workshops.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• MS or PhD in a Life Science or Computer Science discipline.
• Experience in Molecular Biology with an emphasis on microarray technology, especially with the use of software tools to solve challenging problems
• Knowledge and experience with cutting edge data management and data analysis solutions for microarray data
• Experience with installation of relational database software. Oracle experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate highly technical information to both a technical and non-technical audience.
• Strong self motivation and personal organization skills. Ability to organize time and efforts to maximize results.
• Team player with an ability to work well individually as well as in a highly matrixed environment.
  
• Ability to travel as required by the position (less than 15%)
